Day 2 in Kota Kinabalu: Sailing the Wind at Jesselton

On our second day in KK, we woke up as early as 5:30AM to give ourselves ample time figuring out our way to Jesseltown Ferry Point. Looking at our map, we thought we can walk going there from City Lodge.  The 15-min-walk turned to almost an hourwith every minute stop for photo-op.

Jesseltown Ferry is not a plain and simple ferry point. It has a lot of story to tell from it's history to a lively gatherings at night.  This serves an entry and exit point to other places within the island of Borneo, including Brunei.

Pre-arranged by Anna prior to our trip, we met Kuya Ismail (Contact Info: gherald_estijal@yahoo.com; 0168442795 0r 0146555099)  at Jesseltown Ferry Point. He is quite popular to many of our kababayans for the island tours in KK.  He arranged for our parasailing and island hopping to three islands - Sapi, Manukan and Mamutik. For a group of four, we paid MYR50 each for the island hopping(Boat transfers for island hopping-MYR 33, Tax-MYR7 and Conservation Fee-MYR10) and MYR55 for parasailing.

The weather is quite gloomy at seven in the morning but it was just right for our parasailing adventure. Since we were quite early for the parasailing, we just roamed around Jesseltown Ferry point and took more random photos at the dock.

At 8:15am, we hopped on the speedboat for our parasailing. After my palpitating Bukidnon zipline and heartburing water-rafting experience in CDO, this is one of my A-list adventures in life! It was full of thrill and excitement, and I again conquered my fears.

Getting to Jesselton Ferry Point:
You can take a taxi for around MYR5-8 only if you're just within KK City. Do bargain and fix the price with the driver before you starting your trip.
